The Rob Roy is situated only a short distance from Folkestone Harbour and the town centre. It is only 10 minutes from the Channel Tunnel and 20 minutes from the Dover ferries or Eurostar passenger trains at Ashford.
It’s perfectly positioned to explore the Garden of England and its many attractions, for example: Beautiful beaches and promenades, historic castles, coastal parks, The Folkestone Downs & The North Downs Way, wild life parks, The Battle of Britain Memorial and museum and much more – see our ‘Locally’ page for more information.

We’d like to reassure our customers that we remain fully committed to being inspected annually by recognised Quality Standards agencies. You can be assured that we are fully compliant with the requirements of the Food Standards Agency, the Health and Safety Executive, Kent Fire Service, local and national government and insurance agencies. Our latest inspection has resulted in us being awarded a 3-star silver rating by the AA in February 2016. We are, however, discontinuing our use of this particular type of rating service and in future will be self-rating ourselves based upon customer feedback.
The Rob Roy operates a ban on indoor smoking, in line with Government requirements; however we can accommodate smokers outside on our 1st floor veranda.
Pets welcome by prior arrangement. Guests with pets are recommended to book Room 1, a ground floor room with access to a patio garden area. Room 1 is also wheelchair-accessible, so it’s suitable for guests who find stairs difficult.
PLEASE NOTE – Patrons that arrive without a prior booking, luggage and a valid billing card are only accepted at the proprietors’ discretion.
